I hope everyone had a good holiday.

I did. I'm at my daughter's in Pennsylvania. The drive only took me 15 hours - the normal time. Gas prices were relatively low. I haven't added it up, but I think I only spent $80 in gas money on the way out. Tolls were up and are on the rise. At the first of the year, the tolls are going up. I spent $34 coming out here and will spend at least $42 on the way back.

I managed to see  my friends, Pete and Marcy, before they headed to England to visit their son. I usually only see them at reunion in the summer when they come to Wisconsin for the alumni board meeting. They don't live too far from my daughter, but our schedules don't normally coincide. The last time I was out here, they had left for Italy the day before.

Tomorrow, my youngest grandson turns 9.  I always make sure he has a separate birthday present. I'm buying him a bike helmet as he's getting a new bike.

Have fun and enjoy your gifts. Most of all, enjoy your family and friends.
