I've been thinking about signing up for TV again. I don't get good reception, although I suppose that if I got the antenna up on the roof or on an outside wall, reception would be better. I called about cable. I'd like expanded basic but I think $59 plus tax is a bit steep for my current budget.
On another topic, it was really hard to find a notary public on my end of town. I needed to have my application for the well abandonment grant notarized. There were only four notaries listed in the phone book - two on the east side and two on the west. Google listed a few more but none closer to me. I found a notary in an insurance office a couple of miles down the road. She's been a notary for 28 years. She was a sweet old lady who probably doesn't see many people during the day - she was a chatty old bird. I told her about the well, she told me that the banks down the street send her customers but tell them the service is free. She charged $2.00. I thought it would be $5.00.
I looked into becoming a notary myself. I passed the online exam with a score of 98%. It's not expensive to be a Notary Public; it's not something that pays much, although I think the fees
listed on the State website haven't been updated since the 60's. But there are responsibilities, record-keeping, liabilities. You have to be bonded, of course. No undisclosed criminal record. Even traffic tickets have to be explained on the application. I'm a person of reasonably good character who tends to go too fast when in a car.
I'll keep thinking about it. Meanwhile, the painting is unfinished and will remain that way, I'm not satisfied with the perspective. I am getting the hang of creating three-dimensional-looking items. More practice.
